Every BA year pairs a six-month academic semester in Lucerne with a six-month paid internship in Switzerland or worldwide. You live on campus while you study; the placement months are spent wherever the job is.

Swiss living costs are the reason most people hesitate about studying here. BHMS folds them into the program price: the CHF 6'150 living-expenses component covers the 24-week academic semester of shared standard accommodation (2-bed apartment, LakeSide Campus) and meals.
That component sits inside every year total — for direct entrants, CHF 40'700 (Year 2) and CHF 41'700 (Year 3) on the business-track BAs, CHF 41'200 and CHF 42'200 on the culinary track — alongside tuition, operating costs and the application fee. 2027 rates.

Living here
Lucerne is not a compromise
Lucerne sits in central Switzerland where the lake meets the mountains — a compact old town of covered bridges and painted facades, with water on one side and peaks on the other. It is small enough to cross on foot and central enough that the rest of the country is a train ride away.
Mountain railways, lake steamers and the old town are all a short trip from campus, so getting out into that landscape is easy.

Yes. Shared standard accommodation (2-bed apartment, LakeSide Campus) and meals are included in every BA year total as the living-expenses component — CHF 6'150 covering the 24-week academic semester. Accommodation is provided free of charge during term breaks.
Can I have a room to myself?
Yes, as a paid upgrade on top of the standard fee: a Studio Standard is a CHF 4'900 surcharge and a Studio Superior a CHF 7'900 surcharge. The standard fee already includes a shared room with meals.
